What A Missed Period Means?A missed period could be a sign of pregnancy. It is one of the first signs of pregnancy that the body shows. In most women who are healthy and have not gone through any traumatic experience, a missed period is usually sign that in another 9 months, there will be a baby. In other women, who may not have a regular period, or that may not have had the ability to get pregnant, it could be a sign of something being wrong within your body. In this case, it is important for you to seek out the help of your doctor to determine what the potential problem is. Nevertheless, for most it is a sign of pregnancy. Is your body providing other signs as well?Am I Pregnant? While a missed period is a good indication that you are pregnant, especially if you have been trying to conceive, the body often is giving you other symptoms of pregnancy that you should take note of. Here are some of them and how you may be affected by them:Extreme Fatigue: If you are tired more often, or are unable to rest and feel refreshed, this could be one of the early signs that you are having a baby. The body is going through a variety of changes even in the very first weeks, which means additional stresses on the system. In addition, the change in your body's hormones can also cause you to feel tired. Tender Breasts: Because of the change in hormones in your body, your breasts are likely to become tender and painful. This will subside for some time after this pregnancy stage, but right now, they are one of the first signs of pregnancy that you will experience. Morning Sickness: For some women, the feel of being nauseas and the need to vomit will begin just two weeks after conception. This very early start is often a sign that you are pregnant. You may feel that you just have the flu, but it may not go away for several more weeks. Understanding The CycleWhen you have missed your period, you are likely to be a full month pregnant, or about three weeks, depending on the length of your cycle. The body begins to prepare for conception the day after your period happens. During this time, the stage is set for conception, if it should occur. When it does not, the cycle must restart which means another menstruation period. When you are able to get pregnant, the body holds its ground and further develops your body to care for your growing child. This is when a missed period happens.Every woman’s cycle is unique. Some women may have short, three week cycles while others may have six weeks. Usually, you are most fertile and most likely to conceive at about five to seven days after your last period. This means that during this time, should sperm and egg meet in a healthy bond, you may become pregnant. Conception can happen, then during week two of your cycle. Another two to three weeks will pass before you will miss your period. During that time, you may not realize that you are pregnant, but it is a very important time for your child's development and the most influential time as well. Eating healthy, caring for yourself and getting the nutrients your body needs will help to give your baby all he needs to survive. If you have missed your period, consider pregnancy tests to determine if you could be pregnant. Then, schedule and appointment with your doctor to really find out! |
