Asking the question; am I pregnant means that there is a good likelihood that you are. Women's bodies are all different, each with its own ability to alert the woman if she is pregnant as well as if something is wrong.
Because your body is built to conceive and give birth to children, most women have no problem having a baby. Yet, a large number of women are struggling to conceive that first child. Regardless of where you are, your body is the best tool to answer the question about conception and giving birth.
When Conception HappensHaving a baby starts long before sexual intercourse happens. The first day of your menstrual cycle is the day after your period starts. This is about a full week before your body is ovulating, or releasing the ovum from your ovaries to start the process of conception. Conception can happen several days later. People often believe that conception happens as soon as your have sexual intercourse, but this in fact is false. It can take up to two days later for the sperm and egg to meet. From this moment, your body is changing, and as it changes, more and more symptoms of pregnancy will be shown to you. These are some of the best ways to know that you are pregnant long before your missed period or even a home pregnancy test can tell you.
Symptoms Of PregnancyThere are many early signs of pregnancy that are often missed by women simply because they are quite similar to that of the beginning of a menstrual period. For example, a very early symptom of pregnancy is cramping and spot bleeding. This happens just after conception and is called implantation bleeding, where the egg is being implanted into the uterus to form an embryo. The bleeding here is very light, and the cramping, if any, is mild and not nearly as intense as your normal period.
There are other symptoms of pregnancy as well. At this early stage will include breasts that are full, swollen or uncomfortable and fatigue that is not brought on by increased physical activity. Another symptom is that of morning sickness that can begin to show itself as early as two weeks after conception. This may include nausea and vomiting, headaches, fevers, muscle aches and cramps and a lack of interest in food.
Why Are These Things Happening? All of these early signs of pregnancy happen for a reason. Although doctors are not 100 percent sure why morning sickness happens, or why some women experience these symptoms and others do not, they know that they are generally due to the inflow of large amounts of hormones to your body. The body is adjusting to its new task of helping a child to grow. To do that, it must work hard at providing the child with everything it needs to be healthy. Hormones change in the amount that is produced as well as in the types produced. Your body is not used to this and reacts to these hormone levels in unique ways. Ultimately, it will adjust and feel normal within a few weeks.
Asking am I pregnant, usually means that you are seeing some of these signs of pregnancy. You may be looking at a calendar wondering about ovulation. You may be wondering when you can start seeing changes in your pregnancy, week by week. For many women, this is a time of great physical and emotional change. The body is willing to tell you what is happening with it, if you will learn what it is telling you to learn. Consider early pregnancy signs and talk to your doctor about testing for pregnancy. |
